There usually has to be some sort of romance involved for me to pick up a book. Anything with a strong emotional undercurrent is bound to get my attention. Contemporary, PNR, H/C & M/M are my favorites.
I am a voracious reader. I love reading books with deeply flawed characters, that despite their best efforts, never seem to do the right thing. I read a lot of unhealthy relationships, damaged characters, and not so happy endings. I am very much a hurt/comfort junkie. But, that doesn't mean I don't give in to my hopeless romantic side and feed it full of fluff until I want to puke rainbows to get my happily ever afters though. It honestly depends on my mood. Paranormal and esoteric matters fascinate me, so I love stories about vampires, ghosts, shifters or angels and the like too. The themes I read may vary, but ultimately, there usually has to be some sort of romance involved for me to pick it up. Anything with a strong emotional undercurrent is bound to get my attention.
I read about 75% m/m romance, 25% Contemporary, YA, & Paranormal romance. And as I've already stated above, I'd say about 90% of them have a hurt/comfort slant. If you don't have an interest in at least one of those, we probably won't have much to talk about.
