Romancing Riley

There usually has to be some sort of romance involved for me to pick up a book. Anything with a strong emotional undercurrent is bound to get my attention. Contemporary, PNR, H/C & M/M are my favorites.

Zero at the Bone

Zero at the Bone - Jane Seville It was a good story for the most part, I just couldn't seem to get into it. Clearly I'm in the minority here, but I just couldn't connect to the characters so I ultimately didn't care what happened to them. I think a lot of it had to do with how it was written. The writing wasn't bad, but the dialect in which the MC, "D" spoke was really hard to get past and just kept throwing me out of the book. Reading words like, "hafta git yer" frankly drove me nuts. Mainly because I couldn't ever seem to see D speaking that way. The character in my head and the one on the page never really matched so I just had a hard time reading it.That said, it's a decent story, it just wasn't really one for me. I'm sure others will continue to enjoy it.
