Despite how long this book was, and god was it long, I actually enjoyed it and had a hard time putting it down. It was full of twists and turns and I didn't see the ending coming at all. It was chock full of angst, which I love, and Boyd & Sin delivered that in spades. My favorite parts though, were about Sin. I loved his character, he had so many layers and continued to grow throughout the book. I'm really curious to see what happens in the coming books. Yes, I said books. I've heard each one is better than the last, so I'm hoping that holds true. Otherwise, at these lengths, I'll never make it.This book wasn't without its issues, mainly length. It could have been even more powerful at half the length or even less. I think I read another review that said it suffered from 'too much', and I wholeheartedly agree. It had pages upon pages upon pages of unnecessary introspection, repetition and overly detailed prose that just slowed the book down. But I enjoyed the story, plot and the characters enough to keep going. So, that has to count for something I guess. So while I can't give it a 5, I am surprised how much I did enjoy it.
